TUTORING AREA INFORMATION BELOW SCHEDULE
* = Description found below schedule.

OUR INSTRUCTORS AT THE MUSIC CAMP are highly intelligent and creative people, who have all sorts of special knowledge and skills they are generously willing to share with you.

Students should understand that in addition to teaching the formal classes, the instructors are available for one-on-one consultation during most of the time the camp is in session. One-on-one tutoring goes on all weekend. Gailanne Amundsen works with kids all weekend.

Mentored Jam Sessions. This year we'll continue with special jamming sessions open to everyone at the Fire Circle in front of the Central Hall, Saturday and Sunday. That means we can all get together and jam, and a special mentor will be on hand to organize, teach, and otherwise help make the jam sessions successful! Come join in. You're welcome! These have proved very popular, and they really are a LOT of fun!

Ukulele. Our Ukulele classes have been very successful, so we'll continue with them this year. Teacher is genial Rick Kennedy. He'll get you started with this lately more and more popular instrument! Grass skirt not required.

Pennywhistle, Bodhran, Irish Singing. Also continuing this year are two classes presented by veteran professional musician Mac Perry. These will be lots of fun!

No class sessions in any subject are repeats. Our small class sizes allow instructors to custom-tailor instruction to class makeup. Beginners in a subject will be served as well as those who have taken previous hours of the same subject.

TUTORING AREA
For those just getting started or who need a little extra help with things along the way, we'll have a special Tutoring Area located on the porch of the Central Hall at the camp. There we will station some helpful people who are good musicians and who are familiar with how the camp operates. They will be ready, willing, and able to assist you with musical or other questions, give you some special teaching attention, or put you in touch with someone else who can help. Just ask!

**NEVER TOO LATE has been an extremely successful addition to our camp class schedule. The class was created by Carroll Smith from Lake Wales, Florida. Carroll has a lot of wisdom to share about starting to play music at any age.

I may not be the best old time banjo player who started after the age of fifty, he writes, but I am an expert on how to, and not to, learn at a point in life some think is too late.

We plan two sessions, one Saturday and one Sunday, scheduled so that almost everyone can work in at least one session. We will bring our instruments. We may even play a tune. But mostly we will tackle questions such as "Am I too old to learn to play the _______ (you fill in the blank)?" Or: "My teacher is half my age and doesn't seem to like me very much, am I doing something wrong?". Or: "How long does it take to learn to play the _________?".

Discussions will be frank, open, and directed to people that want to play music, no matter what age they are, but already have a full life doing something else. Insecurities, fears, stage fright, jam phobias, all are fair game. Come, be prepared to be candid, and clear away the cobwebs that can hold us back from a full enjoyment of music performed by ourselves.

NEVER TOO LATE IS OPEN TO ALL, OF EVERY AGE.
